First Step

Web Interface V6.0 consists of the following three programs.

It is necessary to have the Server Program installed on the server where you have the Server Program of Antenna House Formatter installed. It is necessary to have the Client Program or Folder Monitoring Service installed on each client from which you want to communicate with the server where the Server Program is installed. The Folder Monitoring Service doesn't require the Client Program to also be installed.

For those who want to run the program quickly, try the following procedure. You can confirm the operation using only one machine.

  1. Install both the Web Interface V6.0 Server Program and the Client Program on a machine where Antenna House Formatter is installed.
  2. Open an Administrator console and move to the directory where the Server Program is installed. Start the server with java -jar xds-server.jar
  3. Open another console and change to the directory where the Client Program is installed. This example assumes you have a sample file (hello.fo) in C:\sample-01 and also have write access to that folder. Run the Client Program by specifying java -jar xds-client.jar -d C:\sample-01\hello.fo -o C:\sample-01\output.pdf
  4. The progress is shown in the console of both the server and the client. The conversion result is stored in the specified output directory on the client side.

In order to start Web Interface V6.0, it is necessary to start the Server Program first. Please refer to the chapter of the Server Program.

The following procedures describe how each client communicates with a server.

  1. Prepare resources to be transformed. This could be, for example, the XML, XSL and image files used.
  2. If necessary, create a Data XML Files that lists any of the media to be used.
  3. Run the client and specify the location of the server, the Data XML Files, and Antenna House Formatter Command-line parameters.

Please refer to the Client Program chapter for more details.

When Folder Monitoring Service is used, you don't need to use the Client Program. The Folder Monitoring Service can be invoked as a Windows or Linux service, monitors the specified folder, sends the target file to the server, and obtains a conversion result. Please refer to Folder Monitoring Service for more details.
